New research published December 19, 2017 in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism suggests that a slightly underactive thyroid may affect a women’s ability to become pregnant—even when the gland is functioning at the low end of the normal range. Nearly twice as many women with unexplained infertility had a TSH greater than 2.5 mlU/L than women whose partners had male factor infertility.
